Marvellous views of Skiddaw and Latrigg!

First blog – The good thing about a stay at RiverBank, other than the marvellous views of Skiddaw and Latrigg, is the fact that you can walk straight out the door onto the path to two of northern Lakes’ most spectacular fells with stunning views of Keswick, Borrowdale and beyond. With the walk up Skiddaw a little more challenging, Latrigg is a closer, easier walk with options for different approaches and returns. In October 2012, we took over 5 year old for an afternoon walk to take in the Indian summer and views of Keswick. From the back door, cross the river via the footbridge and head to the Keswick Leisure Centre and Pool at the end of Station Road. Go round the back of the leisure centre and head towards the car park exit. From here turn left and head along the road then pick up the signs for the footpath to Skiddaw. Passing through a residential area, there is a lane which heads toward a bridge over the A66 and from here just keep heading up!
